Danone uses multiple SAP solutions, but a few years ago it decided to start using Odoo as the solution for its small operating units.
SAP isn’t always the answer for everything
SAP is an ERP that isn’t well suited to small solutions, and even the smallest configuration can become extremely complicated in time and effort. That is why Danone considered the possibility of Odoo being a complement to SAP.
The fact that Odoo is an open-source tool was an advantage for Danone, since it comes with a real community; in addition, the fact that the software publisher was solid was, without a doubt, an added advantage.
Colombia: the first implementation, in just one month
Colombia was chosen for Danone’s first implementation case with Odoo. The roll-out was carried out in an agile way, without following the traditional parameters a conventional ERP usually requires, such as analysis, development and deployment.
The success of the process certified that a fast deployment is possible, even for an ERP. The process was completed in just one month, of course offering the option of immediate rectification and correction.
